Job summary

European Tech Recruit in Cork is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join the Core Peripherals Storage team. You will develop storage drivers, filesystem modules, and tools for SoCs, focusing on UFS, NVMe, and NAND flash.

You will work on Linux kernel components, bootloaders, UEFI, and Zephyr RTOS environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams and the Linux community to deliver performant storage solutions on next-generation devices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Expert-level C programming; Python a plus.
• Linux kernel programming, device drivers, and kernel internals.
• Experience with Linux filesystems such as F2FS, EXT4, or EROFS.
• Strong debugging skills (JTAG/ICE); ARM architecture knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain storage drivers and filesystem modules for SoCs.
• Contribute to Linux kernel components, including drivers and memory subsystems.
• Optimise storage and memory performance for power and runtime efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and open-source communities.
• Support expansion into automotive, home entertainment, and embedded computing markets.
• Develop PC-based tools for image creation and flash provisioning.
