European Tech Recruit invites a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to shape storage driver and Linux kernel modules for diverse SoCs in Cork, Ireland. The role is permanent and onsite, with a focus on high-performance, power-aware storage solutions.

You will work on drivers, filesystems, and upstream kernel contributions, collaborating with automotive and consumer electronics teams. Strong embedded background and ARM expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of embedded software experience.
• Deep expertise in Linux kernel programming and device driver development.
• Familiarity with Linux filesystems (F2FS, EXT4, EROFS) is advantageous.
• Strong kernel and user-space debugging with JTAG/ICE.
• Experience with ARM architecture and real-time embedded concepts.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain storage drivers and filesystem modules for Linux SoCs.
• Work on Linux kernel components including storage drivers, filesystem modules, block drivers, and memory subsystems.
• Optimise storage and memory performance for runtime efficiency and power consumption.
• Debug kernel-level issues reported by customers and flash vendor partners.
• Contribute to upstream Linux kernel community on new storage and memory features.
• Support expansion into automotive, home entertainment, and embedded computing markets.
