Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Ireland seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for electrical, energy and utilities projects. The role focuses on measurement, cost control, and commercial management across the project lifecycle, including valuations, final accounts, and contractual disputes.

You will develop schedules, review Bills of Quantities and Rates, and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers while ensuring compliance with contract conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimun 8+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale electrical, energy, oil and gas, transmission & distribution, renewable energy, utilities projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and construction methodologies.
• Clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Experience delivering technically complex and high-value projects.
• Experience of working in a comparable consultancy environment, or with a client or contractor organisation.
• Knowledge of cost management principles, methods, techniques and tools, including the standard method of measurement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or review measurement of electrical designs and on-site works, develop the Schedule of Rates/BOQ, assess materials and installations.
• Prepare monthly payment certificates and final accounts, monitor anticipated final project costs.
• Provide commercial advice on claims, variations, compensation events, and contractual disputes.
• Review Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Rates, providing cost validation and benchmarking.
• Assess monthly valuations, payment applications, variations, change orders, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and provide regular forecasting and cost control recommendations.
