Job summary

Designer Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. You will lead complex M&E projects from design through construction, commissioning and handover, collaborating with clients, suppliers and quality teams.

You will review, challenge and improve design solutions, with strong knowledge of Irish electrical standards and sustainability requirements. The role includes on-site coordination and progression toward chartership.

Qualifications

• Level 7 degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical project engineering or similar role.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems from design to delivery.
• Good knowledge of Irish electrical standards and safety requirements.
• Ability to review information and propose practical solutions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and schedules to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Develop alternative engineering solutions with calculations and proposals.
• Review coordinated construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Prepare and manage RFIs through client approval.
• Monitor procurement schedules with the procurement team.
• Support commissioning activities on site and handover documentation.
• Utilise Dialux, Relux, Amtech Pro Design and Navisworks as needed.
