Job summary

Silent Aire in Dublin (a Johnson Controls company) seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design and development of large-scale liquid cooling solutions and mission-critical HVAC equipment.

You will own designs from concept through manufacturing support, collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform calculations, prepare documentation, and mentor junior engineers on complex projects to ensure safety, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BEng, BSc Eng) or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical; ePLAN experience is a plus.
• 5+ years’ experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in HVAC, data centres, industrial, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, motor controls, panel design, and control system integration.
• Familiar with electrical codes, standards and best practices.
• Experience performing electrical calculations and developing engineering design documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for large-scale liquid cooling and HVAC equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Own electrical design activities from concept to documentation.
• Develop bespoke electrical panels, power distribution, and control architectures.
• Produce detailed drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Review deliverables for quality, compliance, and project requirements.
• Support manufacturing, commissioning, and field service teams.
• Lead design reviews and risk assessments.
