Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Occupli is recruiting on behalf of an established and progressive organisation seeking an experienced Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS professional who enjoys working across a diverse range of operational and project environments, influencing positive change, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class safety and sustainability outcomes.

We're looking for a confident, adaptable professional with proven leadership capabilities who can build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation. You'll be someone who naturally mentors and supports junior colleagues, leads by example, and enjoys driving continuous improvement without necessarily having direct people management responsibilities.

The Role

Working as a key member of the EHS function, you'll play an integral role in maintaining and enhancing Environmental, Health & Safety standards across multiple projects and operational activities.

You'll collaborate with technical, engineering, manufacturing and project teams to ensure compliance, strengthen safety culture and support the delivery of sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the ongoing development and implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety systems and programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish EHS legislation, company standards and industry best practice.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of effective control measures.
  • Lead incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
  • Coordinate internal audits and support external regulatory and certification audits.
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support sustainability initiatives, environmental reporting and ESG objectives.
  • Partner with project teams to integrate EHS considerations throughout project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior EHS professionals and operational teams.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation and support compliance reporting.
About You

You are an experienced EHS professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and influencing positive outcomes through expertise, communication and credibility.

You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, engaging with diverse stakeholders and supporting projects from planning through to completion.

Most importantly, you enjoy sharing your knowledge and helping others develop while continuously improving standards across the organisation.

Requirements
  • Minimum five years' experience within an Environmental, Health & Safety role in a regulated industry.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing or similar highly regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS management systems and Irish legislation.
  • Experience conducting audits, investigations and compliance reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple projects and functions simultaneously.
  • Proven experience influencing stakeholders and building effective working relationships.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Additional qualifications in Sustainability or Environmental Management would be advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination abilities.
  • Leadership through influence rather than authority.
  • Adaptable and solutions‑focused.
  • Analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and professional development.
  • High levels of integrity, accountability and professionalism.
