Job Title: EHS Project Engineer (Junior–Mid Level)

Location: County Louth, Ireland

Contract Type: Fixed Term – 12 Months

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated EHS Project Engineer to support environmental, health, and safety activities across pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D operations. This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their experience in a highly regulated environment while contributing to a strong safety culture.

You will assist in integrating EHS principles into engineering projects, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. You’ll work closely with senior EHS and engineering colleagues, gaining exposure to high-hazard operations, construction activities, and process safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the integration of EHS requirements into capital projects, facility upgrades, and process changes.
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) and track completion of EHS actions.
  • Assist with field walkdowns, basic risk assessments, and process safety reviews.
  • Contribute to Construction Safety, Machine Safety, LOTO, and Permit to Work programs.
  • Support chemical safety, hazardous waste management, and routine industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Help maintain compliance with HSA, EPA, and internal EHS standards.
  • Participate in incident investigations, audits, and follow-up actions.
  • Deliver or help coordinate EHS training and promote safe working practices across project teams.
Requirements

2–4 years’ experience in EHS within pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, chemical, or other manufacturing environments.

Developing knowledge of Construction Safety, Process Safety, and regulatory compliance.

Ability to conduct basic risk assessments and support EHS documentation and reporting.

Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

Degree in Environmental, Chemical, Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.

Professional EHS training or certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, PSM, ATEX) are an advantage but not essential.

Experience working in a GMP or other regulated environment is a plus.
