Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is actively seeking a Senior EHS Officer to lead safety on major construction projects across Ireland. You will help ensure safe, efficient delivery and uphold the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance at site level.

You will support the EHS Manager with inspections, incident investigations, and continuous improvement, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with authorities, clients and auditors to maintain top safety performance.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in OHS, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in a similar EHS role in construction.
• Know Irish health & safety legislation; experience on large-scale projects.
• Senior or lead EHS experience.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• Full driving licence; Safepass and Manual Handling certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site EHS delivery for large-scale construction projects.
• Promote strong safety culture and ensure compliance.
• Assist EHS Manager with inspections, investigations, and improvements.
• Mentor junior EHS staff and advise site management.
• Liaise with authorities, clients, and auditors; deliver EHS training.
