Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. in Ireland seeks a Staff Engineer to advance AI-based perception for robotics. You will design and deploy SLAM, visual odometry, and multi-sensor fusion, integrating with edge computing systems and production pipelines.

The role blends applied research with engineering rigor in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environment. You will work closely with hardware, embedded, and AI software teams to deliver robust perception solutions for real-time robotics.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in AI, robotics, or computer vision, with 4+ years in SLAM or perception.
• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
• Strong understanding of 3D geometry, motion estimation, sensor fusion, and real-time system design.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying SLAM or VIO systems (ORB-SLAM, RTAB-Map, DSO, OpenVINS, Cartographer).
• Proficient in Python and C++, with practical experience using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or ROS.
• Experience with real-world sensor data and simulators (Gazebo, Gazebo-based environments).
• DevOps/MLOps tools: Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), version control (Git).
• Strong communication and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and deploy SLAM, visual odometry, and multi-sensor fusion algorithms for robotics and edge computing.
• Develop AI-driven mapping, pose estimation, localization, and semantic perception methods with emphasis on performance.
• Train and evaluate deep learning models for spatial understanding and integrate with classical perception pipelines.
• Work with real-world and simulated sensor data to test and refine models; contribute to datasets and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with embedded, systems, and software teams to productionize perception solutions on edge platforms.
• Participate in planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions; own technical areas and deliver high-quality implementations.
• Stay current with AI robotics trends and integrate applicable advancements into workflows.
