Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. seeks a Principal Robotics AI/ML Engineer to lead the development of expert and generalist robot policies in real-world systems. You will drive research-to-production, focusing on task planning, computer vision, and decision-making under uncertainty within the Edge AI Group in Munich.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical roadmaps, and collaborate across hardware, software, and business domains to deliver scalable robotic solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in robotics, computer vision, control theory or AI; with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following: task and motion planning, policy learning, robot foundation models, decision making under uncertainty, multi-sensor fusion, robot control and integration.
• Proven track record of deploying algorithms in real-world systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in ROS, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Deep knowledge in robot locomotion, kinematics and dynamics; comfortable with real-time systems and simulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of expert and generalist policies for industrial tasksets.
• Drive task policy design using hierarchical planning, RL, or hybrid methods.
• Develop real-world and simulation datasets for benchmarking and validation.
• Collaborate with embedded, hardware, and systems engineers to scale solutions to production.
• Stay current with robotics, Edge AI and self-supervised learning; guide adoption of new tech.
• Contribute to AI platform architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps practices.
