Arcadis are seeking a Senior Document Controller for an Oil & Gas assignment located in East Cork. This is initially a 12-month contract, with high potential for extension. One day working from home, four days on site. Option of PAYE or LTD.
The Role
- Lead the development and implementation of document control procedures, workflows, and governance standards across engineering and project functions.
- Establish and maintain document management systems to support multiple capital projects and plant improvement initiatives.
- Control the receipt, review, revision, distribution, and archiving of engineering and project documentation.
- Coordinate documentation activities between internal stakeholders, engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Ensure all technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and project records are accurately maintained and fully traceable.
- Manage document numbering, version control, metadata standards, and approval workflows.
- Support engineering, design, and project management teams in maintaining document compliance and quality standards.
- Produce regular reporting on document status, overdue actions, project deliverables, and workflow performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within document control processes and systems.
- Act as the document control subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to project and engineering personnel.
Requirements
- Significant document control experience within engineering, construction, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience establishing and improving document control systems, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering and capital project teams.
- Strong knowledge of document lifecycle management, revision control, transmittals, and technical records management.
- Experience working with engineering drawings, technical specifications, project documentation, and contractor deliverables.
- Proficiency in electronic document management systems (EDMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Must be eligible to work full-time in Ireland without sponsorship.
