Job summary

Workday is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Data Platform and Observability team in Dublin, Ireland. You will design, build and operate core distributed services (Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ) across private and public clouds, with strong emphasis on observability and performance under heavy load.

You will lead features from concept to deployment, work with global teams, and help scale large-scale NoSQL deployments while maintaining reliability and efficiency in our platform for 10000+

Qualifications

• Senior software engineer with distributed systems background and experience with Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ or Zookeeper.
• Led features and deployed large-scale NoSQL clusters from conception to deployment.
• 5+ years in Kafka/Redis/RabbitMQ administration with cloud platform experience.
• 4+ years designing and operating large-scale distributed systems deployments.
• 3+ years DevOps and development work across distributed NoSQL and messaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate core distributed services including Kafka/Redis/RabbitMQ.
• Develop and tune distributed systems for resiliency and scalability across clouds.
• Construct observability modules, alerts and automation for dashboards and lifecycle.
• Manage deployments on Kubernetes, OpenStack, and bare metal environments.
• Collaborate with product teams to enable Workday platform features at scale.
• Participate in on-call rotations and optimize performance under load.
