Job summary

Workday Ireland seeks a senior software engineer with a strong distributed systems background to design, build and operate high-scale services across multi-cloud environments. You will contribute to Kafka, Redis, and messaging platforms, and collaborate with global teams to ensure reliability and performance of Workday platforms.

You will lead features from inception to deployment, drive observability enhancements, and mentor others in complex distributed systems and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Kafka, Redis or RabbitMQ in cloud platforms.
• 4+ years of distributed systems experience across large deployments.
• 3+ years of DevOps / deployment and operations for NoSQL & messaging systems.
• 1+ year of leading NoSQL related products from conception to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance distributed services like Kafka, Redis and RabbitMQ.
• Develop core streaming, messaging, and caching modules across environments.
• Construct observability modules, alerts and automation for dashboards.
• Operate and tune clusters in production in multi-cloud and private clouds.
• Participate in on-call rotations and drive resiliency and efficiency.
