Job summary

Peamount Healthcare in Newcastle, Co. Dublin, is seeking a Senior Dietitian for a permanent, full‑time role (potential for part‑time). The post is fully onsite with 35 hours weekly and a salary scale of €65,197 to €76,767, aligned with HSE terms.

You will lead dietetic services, coordinate with HSCPs, and deliver clinical, educational and administrative duties to ensure high‑quality nutrition care across the service.

Candidates must meet the requirements and be available for interview on site.

• Hours of Work – 35 Hours per week (part time 17.5 hours per week) – allocation at the Department Head's discretion per service needs

• Remuneration - Current salary scale with effect from 1st June 2026: € 65,197 (point 1) to € 76,767 (point 9 Max Point)

Responsibilities

• To work with in collaboration with the dietitian manager, dietitian colleagues, HSCPs and healthcare staff to ensure the coordination, development and delivery of a high quality nutrition and dietetic service to meet service needs
• The senior dietitian will provide and deliver a high quality nutrition and dietetic service within the designated clinical area
• Carry out clinical, educational, leadership and administrative duties as required

PURPOSE OF THE POST

To work with in collaboration with the dietitian manager, dietitian colleagues, HSCP’s and healthcare staff in Peamount Healthcare to ensure the coordination, development and delivery of a high quality nutrition and dietetic service to meet the needs of service users and the objectives of the organisation that is in keeping with best practice and standards. The senior dietitian will be responsible for the provision and delivery of a high quality nutrition and dietetic service within the designated clinical area and will carry out clinical, educational, leadership and administrative duties as required.

POINT ON SALARY SCALE

New appointees coming from the private sector will be placed on the minimum point of the scale (*exceptions may apply for the below grades, provided proof of recognised service is submitted by VOS)

• *Clinical and Therapy Grades and Staff Nurses*: Incremental credit may be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011) in the Civil Service, local authorities, public service, health service and other public service bodies and statutory agencies.
