Job summary

Software Placements is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the engineering team on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on building deployment platforms, automation, CI/CD and container-based environments.

Responsibilities include designing CI/CD pipelines, developing automation scripts in Python and Bash, and building containerised environments with Docker and Kubernetes. You will also migrate apps to Kubernetes and implement observability with Grafana.

Qualifications

5+ years in DevOps, Platform, or Cloud Engineering.
Hands-on with Kubernetes and container workloads.
CI/CD experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
Scripting in Python and Bash.
Docker/container management experience.
Observability with Grafana or similar.
Security best practices for CI/CD and microservices.
Strong communication in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Develop automation scripts in Python and Bash.
Build and support containerised environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
Migrate apps to Kubernetes and support migration efforts.
Implement monitoring with Grafana and observability tooling.
Develop IaC solutions using Terraform.
Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows.
Maintain Jenkins infrastructure, including servers, agents, backups and monitoring.
