Job summary

DOCOsoft seeks a DevOps Engineer to empower engineering teams to deliver a secure, scalable SaaS on Microsoft Azure. You will automate CI/CD, standardise deployments, and maintain Azure infrastructure using IaC.

Your work concentrates on reliability, security, and production readiness rather than manual release management. You will design pipelines for microservices, improve observability, and drive cost visibility across Azure environments.

Qualifications

• Proven CI/CD design and implementation in Azure cloud-native environments.
• Infrastructure as Code with disciplined Git-based changes.
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash; Python desirable).
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes desirable).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve CI/CD pipelines for microservices with automated testing and safe rollbacks.
• Automate deployment patterns for containerised workloads ensuring reproducibility and versioning.
• Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using IaC with peer reviews and drift-free configs.
• Reduce manual intervention through automation and reliability improvements.
• Improve observability and incident response with logging, metrics, tracing, and dashboards.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines including automated scanning and secure dependencies.
• Enhance secrets management and certificate lifecycle automation.

Job description

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to enable engineering teams to deliver and operate a secure, scalable SaaS platform on Microsoft Azure. This role focuses on automation, CI/CD maturity, infrastructure consistency and production reliability. The DevOps Engineer ensures teams can ship safely and frequently without becoming infrastructure operators. This is a delivery-enablement and operational excellence role, not manual release management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve CI/CD pipelines for microservices, embedding automated testing, gated promotions, and safe rollback strategies.
• Standardise and automate deployment patterns for containerised workloads, ensuring environments are versioned, reproducible, and consistent.
• Build and maintain Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, ensuring changes are peer-reviewed, traceable, and free from configuration drift.
• Reduce manual intervention through automation and engineering improvements.
• Improve system scaling, failover, retry, and resilience patterns across services.
• Support definition and tracking of service-level objectives, contributing to structured incident response and systemic post-incident improvements.
• Strengthen observability across logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting to ensure services are diagnosable in production.
• Embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including automated scanning and secure dependency practices.
• Improve secrets management, certificate lifecycle automation, and secure container practices.
• Increase cost visibility across Azure environments, implementing right-sizing, scaling policies, and lifecycle management to reduce waste.
• Contribute to automation of operational workflows in event-driven and distributed environments.

Key Requirements

• Strong experience operating production workloads on Azure in cloud-native environments.
• Proven CI/CD design and implementation experience (Azure DevOps or equivalent tooling).
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (ARM, Bicep, or similar), with disciplined Git-based workflows and peer-reviewed changes.
• Experience working with containers (Docker) and understanding of orchestration concepts (Kubernetes desirable).
• Practical experience implementing observability solutions such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or OpenTelemetry.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering practices, structured incident response, and resilience patterns.
• Solid networking fundamentals, including private networking, TLS, ingress/egress controls.
• Experience with secrets management solutions such as Azure Key Vault and strong understanding of identity and access controls.
• Strong scripting and automation capability (PowerShell, Bash; Python desirable).
• Comfortable working in event-driven environments (e.g., Azure Service Bus).
• Desirable: experience building internal developer platforms, implementing policy-as-code or compliance automation, or operating single-tenant SaaS environments.
