Job summary

ECS Resource Group is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join a highly collaborative team supporting healthcare software. The role focuses on developing C#/.NET applications, healthcare integrations and automated testing within a regulated healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to architecture decisions, design scalable interfaces, participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure quality through manual and automated testing, while supporting releases and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of commercial software development with C# and .NET.
• Experience with .NET Framework 4.8 or later.
• Experience in manual and automated testing.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and design patterns.
• Experience with Git-based version control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain healthcare software solutions using C# and .NET.
• Design, build and support healthcare integrations and HL7-based interfaces.
• Create, execute and maintain manual test cases to support software releases.
• Design and develop automated functional test suites using .NET C#.
• Support release validation, regression testing and QA activities.

Senior Development Engineer (.NET / Healthcare)

We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team supporting healthcare software.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working across the full software lifecycle, combining .NET development, healthcare integrations, software testing, automation and production support within a regulated healthcare environment.

The role places a strong emphasis on both development and quality engineering, making it ideal for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys building robust applications while ensuring high levels of software quality through manual and automated testing.

You’ll be involved in developing healthcare applications and interfaces, automating test processes, supporting releases, resolving production issues and contributing to the ongoing modernisation of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain healthcare software solutions using C# and .NET.
• Design, build and support healthcare integrations and HL7-based interfaces.
• Create, execute and maintain manual test cases to support software releases.
• Design and develop automated functional test suites using .NET C#.
• Support release validation, regression testing and overall quality assurance activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and non-production issues.
• Participate in a production on-call support rota.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and maintainable solutions.

• Hands‑on experience using Git-based version control.
• Ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.

• Experience working with HL7 integrations and interoperability solutions.
• Experience modernising legacy .NET Framework applications to modern .NET platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with observability, logging, monitoring and application performance tooling.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and continuous integration pipelines.
• Experience balancing technical debt, product delivery and long-term platform sustainability.
