Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group seeks a Design, Products and Proposals Manager for a Galway-based engineering client. You will lead a multidisciplinary team across mechanical, electrical, process and product engineering, driving innovative, commercially viable solutions from concept through testing and commercialisation.

Qualifications

• Level 8 degree required with 8+ years in engineering design or proposals.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating complex tenders.
• Strong knowledge of water/wastewater treatment and modular systems.
• Commercial awareness with ability to balance cost and performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering, design and proposal activities across mechanical, electrical, process and product engineering.
• Develop innovative, commercially viable solutions for customers.
• Lead new product development from concept through testing and commercialisation.
• Drive standardisation and modularisation across product and equipment design.
• Oversee process engineering and technology selection for water, wastewater and industrial solutions.
• Lead equipment sizing, supplier evaluation and tender submissions.
• Manage technical and commercial proposals from enquiry to contract award.
• Develop pricing models and competitive tender submissions.
• Lead value-engineering to improve client value and project profitability.
• Ensure compliance with CE/UKCA/ATEX where applicable.
• Develop product roadmaps and identify new technology opportunities.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing engineering and proposals team.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement across the business.
