Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for the Test and Learn team. You will pioneer experimentation software, apply advanced data science methods, and translate insights into scalable products and services for a global client base, including issuers, acquirers, and merchants.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and business leaders to drive analytics research, deliver novel solutions, and support the company’s data-driven strategies across high-impact projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science or equivalent graduate coursework.
• Experience applying machine learning, causal inference, and/or generative and agentic AI to real world problems.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts, with business acumen to apply technology to commercial questions.
• Experience applying innovative analytics to high volume datasets to influence business decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Exceptional project management and problem-solving abilities with risk/benefit tradeoffs.
• Enthusiasm to mentor teammates and foster growth-oriented culture.
• Degree(s) in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or similar area preferred

Responsibilities

• Drive the research of new functionality within an analytics platform used by Mastercard's global customers to support multi-million-dollar decisions.
• Collaborate with product management to understand customer needs and develop analytic solutions.
• Work closely with engineering teams to implement analytic ideas into products and services.
• Partner with leaders across the business unit to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
