Job summary

DB Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Consultant to support a major financial services transformation in Ireland. The role focuses on transferring agency data, data mapping, validation and reconciliation across legacy and target systems, with AI/automation enhancements.

The candidate will lead complex migrations, work with TA operations teams and SMEs, and drive end-to-end data governance and quality controls throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex data migrations from legacy financial services platforms to new target systems.
• Analyze source and target data structures and develop detailed migration and mapping requirements.
• Extract, transform, cleanse and load large volumes of financial services data.
• Take responsibility for Transfer Agency data migration, including investor, account, transaction, fund and related reference data.
• Develop and execute data mapping, transformation and conversion rules.
• Perform data profiling and identify data-quality issues ahead of migration.
• Design and execute migration reconciliation and validation processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Work closely with Transfer Agency operations teams and SMEs to understand complex business and data requirements.
• Support migration rehearsals, mock conversions, cutover planning and production migration.
• Investigate and resolve migration defects, exceptions and reconciliation breaks.
• Ensure appropriate controls, audit trails and documentation are maintained throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Support data governance, lineage and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with programme managers, business analysts, developers, architects, testing teams and vendors.
• Identify opportunities to use AI, machine learning and automation to improve data mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, testing and migration efficiency.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Consultant / Data Migration Specialist to support a major financial services transformation programme.

The successful candidate will have significant experience migrating complex financial services data between legacy and target platforms, with specific experience of Transfer Agency (TA) data and systems.

This is a senior hands‑on position requiring a combination of strong data migration expertise, financial services domain knowledge and the ability to work closely with technology, operations and business stakeholders.

Experience using AI or automation within data migration, reconciliation, mapping or data-quality processes would be a significant advantage.

Required Experience

• Strong understanding of Transfer Agency processes and data, including:

• Fund and share-class data
• Subscriptions and redemptions

• Holdings and transaction history

• AML/KYC-related data
• Experience performing source-to-target mapping and defining complex transformation rules.
• Strong data analysis, profiling, cleansing, validation and reconciliation experience.
• Excellent SQL skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data integration technologies.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance and lineage.
• Experience supporting migration cutovers and production go‑lives.
• Strong understanding of controls and audit requirements within regulated financial services environments.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical teams.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with major Transfer Agency platforms and fund administration technology.
• Previous experience working for a fund administrator, asset manager, custodian or financial technology provider.
• Experience with cloud‑based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Snowflake or Databricks.
• Python or similar scripting experience.
• Experience automating data migration, reconciliation or testing processes.
• Practical experience using Generative AI, machine learning or AI‑enabled data tools.
• Understanding of how AI can accelerate data mapping, classification, anomaly detection, data‑quality remediation and reconciliation.
• Experience working on large platform replacement or digital transformation programmes.

The Person

We are looking for someone who combines deep data migration expertise with a strong understanding of Transfer Agency operations and data.

You should be comfortable getting into the detail of complex datasets, identifying discrepancies and determining how data should be transformed between systems rather than operating solely at programme‑management level.

The ideal candidate will have previously been involved in end‑to‑end Transfer Agency platform migrations, from discovery and source‑data analysis through mapping, cleansing, testing, reconciliation, cutover and post‑migration validation.

Candidates who can demonstrate how they have used AI or advanced automation to make complex data migrations faster, more accurate or less manually intensive will be particularly attractive.
