Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead migration of analytics workloads to cloud platforms like GCP BigQuery. You will collaborate with business teams, assign tasks to junior members, and ensure testing and validation align with standards.

The role also involves mentoring staff and guiding mid-level engineers in a hybrid environment. You will work with Databricks, AWS, and SQL/NoSQL data stores while aligning with Revenue standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based data technologies and migrations to cloud.
• Experience with AI-assisted development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage large teams in a hybrid setup.
• Good team-player with strong interpersonal skills for a challenging hybrid environment.
• Understanding of systems architecture and databases; ability to model data flows.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for migration of analytics workloads to GCP BigQuery.
• Coordinate with business teams during the migration process and provide support.
• Assign migration tasks to junior team members and monitor progress.
• Identify and implement testing/validation programs for migrated workloads.
• Create functional design specifications and user stories as required.
• Mentor junior members and guide intermediate staff in their work.
