Job summary

Coursera is seeking a senior in-house lawyer to lead commercial legal programs, negotiating technology deals, and advising growth teams. This role reports to the Head of Commercial Legal, Strategic Growth, and supports B2B Enterprise, Technology Alliances, and Channel agreements.

You will own drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts, partner with Product Legal to scale frameworks, and provide AI-related legal guidance to enable fast, compliant growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
• In-house or tech/software deal experience preferred.
• Experience with AI governance obligations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take primary ownership of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements across global systems, channel partners, and enterprise licenses.
• Advise senior stakeholders on deal structuring, risk allocation, and commercial terms across multi-jurisdictional GTM.
• Partner with Product Legal to develop scalable frameworks, including API terms and developer onboarding.
• Provide guidance on AI-related commercial arrangements and data-sharing agreements.
• Own and evolve enterprise and channel contracting templates, playbooks, and approval processes.
• Design scalable legal infrastructure enabling fast-moving deal teams with sound risk controls.
