Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Sr Consultant to join the newly established Centralized 1LoD Control Testing function. The role focuses on standardizing testing practices across business units and corporate functions, supporting risk management activities, and enabling independent control testing.

You will execute risk-based control reviews, perform test executions, and analyze results to identify trends and solutions, working with stakeholders across multiple areas.

Qualifications

• College or university degree is required.
• Strong risk and control testing experience.
• Experience in financial services industry, including regulatory experience.
• Experience in Fund Accounting or Transfer Agency is an advantage.
• Understanding of control frameworks and testing methodologies.
• Self-motivated with strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent analytics skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Leads controls testing execution including walkthroughs, design, and operating effectiveness testing.
• Ensures all aspects of testing are properly documented in prescribed templates and methodology.
• Draft reporting and incorporate feedback from Test Lead/Manager review.
• Responsible for identification and escalation of follow-ups and potential deficiencies.
• Work closely with stakeholders to remediate risk areas while driving improved operations/compliance.
