Job summary

The Chief Governance Office at EirGrid Group is seeking a Compliance Senior Specialist to strengthen our enterprise-wide compliance framework and assure adherence to regulatory, statutory and market obligations. Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in compliance roles, with at least 2 years in a senior management or leadership capacity.
• Qualified to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing senior leaders.
• Experience in policy development, compliance assurance, and regulatory engagement.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior internal authority on compliance matters, interpreting complex regulatory, statutory and internal governance obligations and advising functions accordingly.
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EirGrid’s compliance frameworks, policies and assurance activities.
• Provide authoritative guidance on complex or emerging compliance issues across energy regulation, grid operations, data protection, procurement, market codes and corporate governance.
• Drive accountability through executive reporting, compliance dashboards, and influencing decision-making at the highest level.
• Lead organisation-wide compliance risk assessments and support integration with enterprise risk management processes.
• Oversee compliance controls testing, assurance reviews, and mitigation programmes, including escalation of significant risks or breaches.
• Support governance reporting and contribute to executive dashboards and Board-level compliance updates.
• Engage with regulatory authorities on compliance matters, where appropriate, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Coordinate EirGrid’s compliance with relevant licenses, regulatory authorisations, market codes, and legislation.
