Job summary

Kerry Parents & Friends Association is seeking a Senior Community Access Facilitator to provide day to day leadership within our Adult Disability Day Services in Killarney. You will supervise staff, coordinate service delivery and support the achievement of individual outcomes, while promoting New Directions, community inclusion and a Human Rights Based Approach.

The role requires a Level 7+ qualification and at least three years post-qualification experience in relevant settings, with a focus

Qualifications

  • A relevant third-level qualification at Level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Disability Studies, Community Development, Health, Education, Psychology, Social Sciences or another discipline relevant to the role.
  • Minimum three years post qualification experience supporting adults with disabilities, including experience coordinating supports, mentoring staff or undertaking delegated leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience working in community, social, or work-based support settings, or in any other setting that aligns with the responsibilities of this role.
  • Experience of Person Centred Planning, quality assurance processes, safeguarding practices and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the effective day to day delivery of the service, including staffing arrangements, work priorities and the use of available resources.
  • Lead and monitor person centred planning, ensuring individual goals, agreed actions and outcomes are progressed and reviewed.
  • Work directly with adults with disabilities to promote choice, independence, active citizenship and meaningful participation in community life.
  • Support the development of creative and outcome focused opportunities in areas such as education, employment, social participation and community inclusion.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals, families, circles of support, multidisciplinary teams and community partners to achieve positive outcomes and address barriers.
  • Promote high standards of practice through safeguarding, risk management, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Exercise delegated operational responsibility and provide leadership during periods of management absence, as required.

The Role:

The role will also exercise delegated operational responsibility as required, while promoting New Directions, community inclusion and a Human Rights Based Approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day leadership, guidance, mentoring and first line operational support to staff, as delegated by the Centre Manager/Deputy Manager.

  • Relevant experience working in community, social, or work based support settings, or in any other setting that aligns with the responsibilities of this role.
  • Experience of Person Centred Planning, quality assurance processes, safeguarding practices and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead service improvement initiatives and support teams in delivering quality outcomes.
  • Applicants must have the necessary authorisation to work in Ireland and will be asked to provide supporting documentation during the recruitment process.

Highly Desirable Criteria:

  • Hold a full driver’s licence, have proven driving experience, and be willing to drive Association vehicles. Regarding use of own vehicle for work purposes, applicants must ensure it is roadworthy and covered by valid business insurance (or be willing to obtain business use insurance).
  • Hold a relevant leadership or management qualification.
  • Have completed training in Person Centred Planning, Safeguarding, Positive Behaviour Support, Risk Management, and/or Quality Systems.
