Job summary

Elgin is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead commercial workstreams across its renewable energy portfolio, supporting projects from early development through Financial Close. This role will shape commercial strategies, invest­ment cases and cross-functional inputs to secure robust commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in renewable energy, utilities, electricity markets or commercial management.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to evaluate complex opportunities.
• Excellent analytical skills and high proficiency in Excel.
• Comfortable interrogating financial models and conducting sensitivity analysis.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial workstreams across Elgin's renewable energy portfolio from development to Financial Close.
• Develop commercial strategies to maximise value across solar, storage and hybrid projects.
• Lead government support schemes including UK CfD, Irish RESS and other market mechanisms.
• Prepare commercial business cases, ELT papers, Investment Committee papers and Board approvals.
• Coordinate inputs from Development, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Legal and Transactions.
• Assess project economics and challenge modelling assumptions with Finance and Modelling teams.
• Develop route-to-market strategies and support contract negotiations with the PPA Manager.
• Drive opportunities in new markets, revenue structures, acquisitions and portfolio optimisation.
• Monitor policy, markets, competitors and regulate developments to adjust strategy.
• Support lender due diligence and financing processes to keep structures bankable.
