Job summary

Toast is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own platform architecture and automation for landing zones, networking and security in new AWS regions. You’ll lead IaC tooling, mentor engineers, and push DevOps best practices across the scrum team.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in DevOps/Infra, hands-on Java or Kotlin, and Terraform Providers experience, plus cloud SDKs in AWS/GCP/Azure. This role supports hybrid work and a dynamic restaurant-tech environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering, with a focus on DevOps/Infrastructure/Platform engineering.
• Hands-on programming in Java or Kotlin is required.
• Experience writing Terraform Providers is a must.
• Expertise with at least one public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and IaC SDKs.
• Experience scaling infrastructure for large teams and CI/CD for cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a Scrum team to build and maintain IaC modules.
• Develop and support tooling for CI/CD and automation of scalable infra.
• Promote DevOps practices and maintain code quality across the team.
• Lead architectural work for landing zones, networking and security for new regions.
• Mentor developers on IaC tooling and DevOps practices.
