Job summary

Canada Life Assurance Europe plc seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the Platform team. You will drive scalable cloud solutions, automation, and SRE practices, reporting to the Head of Software Engineering.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in cloud/DevOps roles, strong Azure/AWS/GCP knowledge, IaC experience (Terraform, Azure Bicep), and a collaborative, agile mindset with mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Cloud Engineer or DevOps/Platform role.
• Designing, implementing, securing and monitoring production cloud platforms.
• Experience with IaC and automation (Terraform, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of Terraform, Helm, Bash and PowerShell.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and SCRUM teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement scalable cloud solutions following defined patterns.
• Infrastructure as Code: manage declarative infrastructure (Terraform/Azure Bicep).
• Improve Cloud Platform with automation and FinOps practices.
• Security: IAM, network security, encryption protocols.
• Monitoring: observability tools to track health and performance.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance across teams.
