Job summary

Manpower Ireland is seeking a Construction Quality Manager / Clerk of Works in Drogheda to oversee quality, compliance, and progress on a major education sector project. The role operates within a live school environment and spans approximately two years, coordinating inspections and reporting.

The candidate will verify compliance with Irish regulations, BCAR, and safety standards, and will manage records, meetings, and snagging activities to drive timely handover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Construction Inspector, Site Inspector, or similar quality assurance role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR requirements, Health & Safety legislation, and construction best practice.
• Experience across building, civil, and M&E works.
• Excellent reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience on education, public sector, or live operational environment projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a professional and impartial approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials throughout the construction phase.
• Verify compliance with contract documents, building regulations, BCAR requirements, and industry best practice.
• Undertake inspections of substructure, superstructure, architectural, M&E, and external works.
• Identify defects, non-conformance, and programme risks, reporting findings to the project team.
• Monitor site safety arrangements and the contractor’s management of the live school interface.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, photographic evidence, and weekly progress reports.
• Assist with snagging, practical completion, and defects period inspections.
