Job summary

ManpowerGroup Ireland is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee quality, compliance and construction progress on a major education sector development in Drogheda, Co. Louth.

The project includes a two-storey primary school, phased demolition, landscaping, roadworks, and live school environment. You will monitor workmanship, verify compliance with Irish Building Regulations and BCAR, undertake inspections across substructure, superstructure, M&E and external works, and report defects

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Clerk of Works, Construction Inspector, Site Inspector, or similar QA role.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR, Health & Safety legislation, and construction best practice.
• Experience across building, civil, and M&E works.
• Excellent reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality of workmanship and materials throughout construction.
• Verify compliance with contract documents, building regulations, BCAR requirements, and best practice.
• Undertake inspections of substructure, superstructure, architectural, M&E, and external works.
• Identify defects, non-conformance, and programme risks, reporting findings to the project team.
• Monitor site safety arrangements and the contractor's management of the live school interface.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, photographic evidence, and weekly progress reports.
• Assist with snagging, practical completion, and defects period inspections.

We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee quality, compliance, and construction progress on a major education sector development project in Drogheda, Co. Louth. The project involves the construction of a new two-storey primary school building, associated site development works, phased demolition, landscaping, roadworks, and supporting infrastructure within a live operational school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials throughout the construction phase.
• Verify compliance with contract documents, building regulations, BCAR requirements, and industry best practice.
• Undertake inspections of substructure, superstructure, architectural, M&E, and external works.
• Identify defects, non-conformance, and programme risks, reporting findings to the project team.
• Monitor site safety arrangements and the contractor's management of the live school interface.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Location: Drogheda, Co. Louth
Duration: Approx. 2-year contract aligned with the construction programme
Attendance: Progressive site attendance increasing from part-time during enabling works to full-time during the main construction phase.
