Job description

Our client, a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join their expanding team. Following recent business growth and acquisitions, this is a key senior appointment with the opportunity to play a major role in developing projects, strengthening client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

This position offers significant autonomy, leadership responsibility and long-term progression potential within a highly successful engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural and civil design delivery of building projects across the West of Ireland.
• Manage projects from initial feasibility through to construction and completion.
• Oversee project planning, resourcing, technical delivery and programme management.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Support business development activities and identify opportunities for new work.
• Build and maintain strong relationships within the Irish construction and engineering sector.

Candidate Profile

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Ideally 10+ years' experience, although candidates with 5+ years and strong project experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience delivering structural engineering projects within Ireland.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural design and construction methodologies.
• Experience managing teams and leading projects.
• Commercially minded with the ability to develop client relationships and win business.
• Established network and industry contacts within the Irish market would be advantageous.
• AutoCAD and REVIT/BIM proficiency.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered status desirable but not essential.
