Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer to support the Renewables & Transmission and Distribution teams across the UK and Ireland. You will lead civil infrastructure design from feasibility through to construction supervision on a range of energy projects, including wind, hydro, grid, and energy storage.

Based in offices across the UK with a flexible hybrid model, the role offers leadership of multidisciplinary teams, technical excellence, and opportunities for career progression within a global

Qualifications

• Must hold a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering and ideally be chartered or progressing towards chartership.
• Demonstrates high technical competency in civil/structural design.
• Strong report writing and organisational abilities are essential.
• Familiarity with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS) or CDAE status is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients, manage project work, and ensure timely delivery within budget.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Lead the design of civil infrastructure including roads, drainage and external works.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings and specifications to UK standards.
• Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries.
• Produce high-quality feasibility, inspection, and design reports.
• Mentor and guide junior staff.
