Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to support energy projects across Renewables & Transmission and Distribution. The role involves leading multi-disciplinary teams, delivering feasibility through construction supervision, and collaborating with major energy utilities and developers.

The position covers UK/IE projects with a flexible hybrid working model, offering career progression within a global infrastructure firm.

Qualifications

  • BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • Chartered status or actively working towards chartership is expected.
  • Experience delivering complex multi-disciplinary energy projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead verifier on reports including technical feasibility studies and design reports.
  • Liaise with clients, manage project work on a day-to-day basis and ensure timely delivery within budgets.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams and lead civil infrastructure design including roads and drainage.
  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings and specifications per UK/European standards (BS EN, Eurocodes, CDM).
  • Conduct site inspections and respond to technical queries.
  • Produce high-quality reports (feasibility studies, inspection reports, design documentation).
  • Mentor and guide junior staff.
