Job summary

DBFL Consulting Engineers Ltd. in Waterford is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead a team on a wide range of national infrastructure projects across public and private sectors.

You will work directly with a Civils Director and oversee client management, financial performance, and project delivery from feasibility through to construction. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years civil engineering experience, a Level 8 Honours degree (Chartered status preferred), strong design knowledge of

About The Role

Due to our expanding portfolio of projects nationally, we have exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer.

Due to our expanding portfolio of projects nationally, we have exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team. Providing services ranging from feasibility studies to detailed designs through construction and completion of large national infrastructure projects. The candidate can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. Working directly with a Civils Director you will be responsible for all aspects of client management, financial/commercial management, team leadership/growth.

Key Traits And Skills

Reporting to a Civil Director, the ideal candidate, pending experience, will display the following key traits and skills:

• Ability to Lead manage multiple projects
• Strong financial management skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• An understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering works.
• Strong background in the design principles set out in national / local authority standards and technical guidance documents such as GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, and TII Publications etc.
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary design team co-ordination and workflow. Be able to present design solutions effectively holistically internally plus within a wider project team.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Experience in contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participation in the administration of contracts.
• An eye for opportunities and develop further workstreams.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop Junior Engineer.

Desired Qualifications And Requirements
