Job summary

DBFL Consulting Engineers Ltd. in Dublin is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead a team and deliver projects from feasibility to construction across national infrastructure.

You will manage client relationships, financial performance, and guide multi-disciplinary design teams in accordance with national standards; Chartered status preferred and a driver’s licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years civil engineering experience.
• Strong commercial and risk management background.
• Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) with Chartered status preferred.
• Customer-focused with client relationship skills.
• Ability to mentor staff in technical development.

About The Role

Due to our expanding portfolio of projects nationally, we have exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team. Providing services ranging from feasibility studies to detailed designs through construction and completion of large national infrastructure projects. The candidate can expect to work on a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. Working directly with a Civils Director you will be responsible for all aspects of client management, financial/commercial management, team leadership/growth.

Key Traits And Skills

• Ability to Lead manage multiple projects
• Strong financial management skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• An understanding of the fundamentals of civil engineering works.
• Strong background in the design principles set out in national / local authority standards and technical guidance documents such as GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, and TII Publications etc.
• Experience in leading multi-disciplinary design team co-ordination and workflow. Be able to present design solutions effectively holistically internally plus within a wider project team.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Experience in contract documents for Public Works Contracts and participation in the administration of contracts.
• An eye for opportunities and develop further workstreams.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop Junior Engineer.

Desired Qualifications And Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 5 years civil engineering experience.
• Strong commercial and risk management background.
• Minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons) and ideally achieved Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
• Customer-focused with growing client relationship management skills.
• Ability to mentor staff in developing their own technical expertise.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• A current driver’s licence is desirable
