Job summary

COWI is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Ireland to lead major project delivery, combining technical leadership with commercial oversight. You will apply engineering principles, compile planning documentation, and contribute to transport assessments while collaborating with diverse teams.

The candidate should be a Chartered Engineer with Irish or ICE recognition, possess a strong grasp of drainage/roads/traffic design, DMURS familiarity, and solid IT and cost-management skills.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or ICE.
  • A thorough understanding of drainage, water, roads and traffic system design.
  • Familiarity with DMURS.
  • Understanding of Irish regulatory and policy issues
  • Appreciation of the full Project Delivery Process including GCC Contracts.
  • IT skills – MS Word, Excel, basic AutoCAD; and design software packages including Linsig, Causeway Flow, MicroDrainage, TRICs, Tuflow, HEC-RAS, EPANet.
  • Knowledge of how projects are financed and funds managed (costing and options appraisals)
  • Commitment to CPD and competence.
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written.

Toenable our growth in Ireland, we are looking for a Senior Civil Engineerto join us. Working onthe delivery of major projects,you’ll be responsible for the technical, managerial and commercial aspects of your project in accordance with the company ISO procedures.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Identify and apply appropriate scientific methods to solve engineering problems using knowledge of the limitations of established best practice as defined by Standards and Codes.
  • Compile engineering planning documentation for major projects.
  • Prepare Traffic & Transportation Assessments and Mobility Management Plans, including road safety auditing.
  • Plan and manage the use of human and physical resources for your projects.
