Senior CIAM Engineer: Build Scalable Identity Platform

Acuity Inc. is advancing a modern CIAM platform to support a growing catalog of digital products across multiple business units.

We seek a Full Stack Software Engineer who will design, develop, and operate scalable identity services powering authentication, authorization, user management, onboarding, and secure access across web, mobile, and API channels. You will collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, Product, and Architecture teams to deliver cloud-native solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience developing full-stack applications in cloud-native environments.
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js or Vue.js.
• Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Python.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with microservices and distributed architectures.
• Hands-on experience integrating with identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID/External ID, Okta, Auth0, Ping Identity and similar CIAM platforms.
• Solid understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT Tokens.
• Authentication & Authorization patterns.
• Experience developing applications on Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
• Experience working with Git-based development workflows.
• Experience implementing automated testing and quality engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications supporting CIAM capabilities.
• Build customer-facing identity experiences including registration, login, MFA, profile management, account recovery, and consent management.
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices supporting identity workflows.
• Build responsive and accessible user interfaces using modern frontend technologies.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms across web, mobile, and API channels.
• Collaborate with architects and IAM specialists to implement identity design patterns and standards.
• Design and develop secure RESTful and event-driven APIs.
• Build highly available microservices and distributed systems.
• Implement integration services connecting identity platforms with business applications.
• Develop reusable SDKs, components, and shared services to accelerate adoption across engineering teams.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
