Job description

I’m currently working with a high-growth international consumer products manufacturer on a major strategic capital investment programme and am looking for an experienced Contract Project Manager to lead the delivery.

This is a c.€20m, two-year manufacturing expansion project involving the extension of an existing production facility, installation of new manufacturing and packaging lines, significant automation, and supporting infrastructure.

This is a genuine end-to-end project ownership role, reporting directly to the VP Engineering.

The Role

You will take overall responsibility for delivering the project safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, from planning and design through to construction, equipment installation, commissioning and operational handover.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead delivery of a c.€20m capital investment programme
• Manage the extension of an existing manufacturing facility
• Lead installation and integration of new manufacturing and packaging lines
• Manage automation, equipment installation and supporting infrastructure
• Coordinate architects, civil engineers, contractors, equipment suppliers and specialist partners
• Own the project budget, forecasting, expenditure and cost control
• Develop and manage the overall project programme, milestones, dependencies and critical path
• Identify and mitigate project risks at an early stage
• Manage project scope, change control and governance
• Ensure robust H&S management throughout project delivery
• Lead commissioning, testing and final operational handover
• Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, H&S, Procurement and Finance

The Environment

This is a brownfield, live manufacturing environment.

Production will continue throughout the project, so experience delivering complex construction, equipment installation and automation projects around ongoing manufacturing operations is particularly important.

The successful candidate will need to understand the interaction between construction, manufacturing processes, equipment, automation and site operations and be comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.

What we're looking for

Ideally, you will have:

• 5+ years' experience managing major capital projects
• Ideally delivered €10m+ CAPEX projects
• Strong manufacturing/process project experience
• Proven experience with manufacturing equipment and production-line installation
• Experience with automation and/or highly automated manufacturing environments
• Strong contractor, supplier and third-party management experience
• Proven budget and commercial management capability
• Strong project planning, risk management and governance skills
• Experience taking projects through commissioning and operational handover
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Experience within FMCG, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, medical device, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor or other complex manufacturing environments would be relevant.
