Fastnet, a growing engineering consultancy, is seeking a capable Project Manager to lead equipment installation and capital projects across pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device sectors. The role covers initiation through to completion in a regulated manufacturing environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will coordinate plans, budgets and procurement, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, manage contractors and suppliers, and drive continuous improvement by applying

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years' experience in a Project Management role.
  • Experience delivering equipment installation, upgrade or capital projects.
  • Strong project planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage equipment installation, upgrade and modification projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery and quality.
  • Work with engineering, production, maintenance, quality and vendors.
  • Develop project plans, schedules and budgets; monitor progress and risks.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage contractors and external suppliers during execution.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports and progress updates.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and apply engineering best practices.

Job description

We're supporting a growing engineering consultancy delivering capital projects across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sectors. This role will be supporting the successful delivery of equipment installation, upgrade, and capital projects within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role will suit an engineering professional with a background in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering who enjoys managing projects from concept through to completion while working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Manage equipment installation, upgrade and modification projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure delivery on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, maintenance, quality and external vendors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Develop project plans, schedules and budgets, monitoring progress and mitigating project risks where required.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification activities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with site safety standards, engineering procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage contractors and external suppliers during project execution.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports and progress updates for key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of engineering best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree inMechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering(or related engineering discipline).
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a Project Management role.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering equipment installation, upgrade or capital engineering projects.
  • Strong project planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment such as pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology or process manufacturing is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects to challenging timelines.
