Job summary

Jobtailor are recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer to lead bridge projects in public transport schemes. You will supervise a small team, oversee design development, and deliver technically sound solutions that meet client requirements.

The role includes feasibility studies, detailed reports, risk assessment, and bid support. You will mentor junior staff and liaise with clients and suppliers. Some remote work is available for Ireland and the UK, with a Dublin base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
• Chartered status or equivalent professional licence desirable.
• Experience in structural design processes and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective support to the Technical Director on structures schemes.
• Lead bridge engineering projects from quotation through handover.
• Oversee junior staff and drive safe design delivery.
• Prepare feasibility studies and technical reports.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, and drawings.
• Coordinate with clients and suppliers and attend progress meetings.
• Drive Health and Safety practices within the team.
• Work on local projects and support Ireland/UK remotely.
