Job summary

Access Talent Group is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer in Naas to lead bridge projects from concept to construction and to mentor junior staff. You will prepare calculations, drawings and specifications for reinforced concrete and steel structures while liaising with clients and contractors within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires Chartered status or clear pathway, 5+ years of experience, and comprehensive knowledge of Eurocodes and Irish standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 5+ years' experience in bridge/structural engineering.
• Strong experience in design and assessment of bridges and civil structures.
• Experience with reinforced concrete and steel design.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and Irish design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of bridge projects from concept through to construction.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings and technical specifications.
• Design and assess reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures.
• Undertake bridge inspections, assessments and condition surveys.
• Manage structural elements of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

• Assist with project management, programming and resource planning.
• Support the preparation of tenders, fee proposals and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with Irish and European standards.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical support during construction.

An established and growing engineering consultancy based in Naas, Co. Kildare is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to join their Structures team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to take a senior role within a multidisciplinary consultancy, working on a diverse portfolio of bridge and civil infrastructure projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects while also supporting junior engineers and contributing to the continued growth of the structures team.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.5+ years' relevant experience in bridge/structural engineering.
• Strong experience in the design and assessment of bridges and civil structures.
• Experience with reinforced concrete and steel design.
• Knowledge of relevant Eurocodes and Irish design standards.
• Experience producing structural calculations, reports and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of the construction process and site requirements.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
• Chartered Engineer status, or a clear pathway towards Chartered status, would be advantageous.
