Optum is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to strengthen forecasting accuracy, data quality, and decision support across invoicing and billing workflows. The role sits at the intersection of Finance Operations, Billing, and Data Insights, owning and modernizing processes while enabling scalable analytics and reporting foundations.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in finance operations and analytics, with proven ability to translate complex financial activity into clear executive insights

Qualifications

• Experience in Finance Operations, Billing, Invoicing, Revenue Cycle, or Analytics in complex environments.
• Experience with billing processes, invoice cycles, reconciliation, and financial controls.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying data from enterprise sources.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehouses/analytics platforms.
• Ability to analyze large, ambiguous data sets and derive insights.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills.
• Proficiency across analytics tools including Python, R, or advanced Excel.
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance.
• Ability to communicate outcomes and recommended actions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end invoicing and billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support financial operations reporting with inputs, files, and planning data.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and technical teams to align billing with financial outcomes.
• Understand upstream drivers and articulate downstream impact.
• Drive transition from manual workflows to automated, scalable data solutions.
• Define data quality, validation, and reconciliation controls for billing outputs.
• Communicate complex findings to stakeholders with clear narratives.
• Contribute to data platforms and reporting modernization, including Snowflake readiness.
• Perform other duties as required.
