Job summary

Camunda is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own automated reliability testing and chaos engineering at the core of Camunda 8. You’ll experiment with safe failures and guide product direction while collaborating with talented colleagues who live our FAITH values.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering (Java)
• Proven drive to experiment, learn new tech, and conduct automated reliability testing
• Experience with chaos testing in distributed environments
• Desire to improve performance and fault-tolerance in production systems
• Autonomous, pragmatic problem-solving and leadership in teams

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests
• Investigate and debug potential failures or performance regressions in Java-based products
• Improve load testing, chaos engineering, and observability infrastructure
• Develop new tooling for reliability testing and drive measurable improvements
• Collaborate with QA and engineering teams and influence roadmaps with findings
• Advocate for user-centric reliability by using Camunda products
