Job summary

Archer (Ireland) is seeking an exciting Backend Engineer to join an established software business at a pivotal point in its product development. With thousands of customers across hospitality, retail and leisure, the company has recently launched its first AI product and is expanding its engineering team.

You’ll develop a standalone Python application, building backend services that integrate AI technologies with customer data to deliver production-ready features.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Experience building backend applications, APIs or services.
• Experience with SQL and databases.
• Experience with Django, Flask, LLMs and APIs.
• Understanding of asynchronous Python and HTTP services.
• Interest in AI technologies and building AI-powered applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an understanding of secure software development.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale production-ready Python applications.
• Work across backend services, APIs, data and AI technologies.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver AI-enabled features.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and product roadmaps.
