Job summary

Echobox in Ireland is seeking an experienced backend developer to join our engineering team. You will work closely with Product and Data Science to shape the future of our AI-powered platforms.

You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, deploy on cloud platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions. The role emphasizes clean code, security, and continuous learning in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong knowledge of Python, Java, or Node.js; experience with back-end frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying apps in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases and building data storage solutions.
• Proactive, results-driven mindset with ability to learn quickly.
• Passion for solving problems with technology to deliver scalable solutions.
• 3-5 years of experience in back-end development with a focus on server-side technologies.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Understanding RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and back-end best practices.
• Understanding security best practices for back-end development.
• Experience in fast-paced SaaS or tech environment focusing on back-end systems.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and ability to collaborate with data scientists.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product team and Data Scientists to define and execute product strategy.
• Design, build, and maintain back-end services and systems to support AI-powered products.
• Develop scalable, high-performance systems for large data and ML models.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Contribute to deployment and integration of back-end services with front-end and data systems.
• Improve architecture, performance, reliability, and scalability of back-end systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to improve system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system needs and drive continuous improvements.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies to improve back-end infrastructure.
