National Vehicle Distribution in Baldonnell seeks an Automotive Workshop Operations Manager to lead a large on-site workshop team, drive lean process improvements, and oversee daily operations for vehicle modification lines.

The role requires deep engineering expertise, business acumen, and the ability to ensure quality and safety while coordinating with suppliers and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or related discipline.
• Experience: Intensive experience in technical manufacturing, engineering management, or heavy workshop operations, with a track record of managing 50+ staff.
• Technical Acumen: Deep insight into automotive compliance, engineering workflows, workshop safety regulations, and specialised vehicle conversion lines.
• Lean Expertise: Mastery of workshop lean principles (GEMBA, waste elimination, standardised work, root-cause analysis).
• Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting reports to regulatory bodies and managing relationships with global OEM suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full responsibility, ownership, and direct control of all Baldonnell Automotive Workshop floor operations and technical modification lines.
• Lead the integration of workshop facilities, equipment, and workflows on-site.
• Introduce and standardise New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to optimise local modification lines.
• Utilise GEMBA opportunities and engineering assessments to eliminate variances and bottlenecks.
• Oversee compliance with national standards, including RSA reporting and approval processes for on-site vehicles.
