Job summary

SSO Personnel in North East Cork are seeking an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to oversee the workshop operations, support mechanics and ensure servicing and repairs are completed safely and to a high standard.

You will schedule work, provide technical guidance, supervise servicing and ensure compliance with safety procedures and paperwork.

The role offers a modern workshop environment with ongoing training and development, and a full-time permanent position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to lead and support a workshop team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety and workshop standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations and scheduling.
• Provide technical support and guidance to mechanics.
• Supervise servicing, maintenance and repairs to standards.
• Ensure safety procedures and proper paperwork are completed.
• Mentor apprentices and junior staff.
• Maintain documentation of completed work in the system.
• Carry out Tool Box Talks when required.
