Job summary

Morgan McKinley supports an established manufacturing operation in Tralee, Co. Kerry by recruiting a Senior Automation & Process Engineer. The role is hands-on with significant autonomy and ownership across automation systems from concept through commissioning.

The ideal candidate brings Siemens PLC experience (S7/TIA Portal, WinCC), live manufacturing exposure and a proven ability to deliver automation projects while coordinating contractors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

Experience in a live manufacturing environment.
Strong PLC programming and commissioning experience.
Knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems.
Experience with instrumentation, PID control and loop tuning.
Experience delivering automation or equipment projects from specification through to commissioning.

Responsibilities

Developing, maintaining and optimising Siemens S7 / TIA Portal PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
Troubleshooting live production issues and carrying out root-cause analysis.
Managing and supervising external contractors and suppliers.
Specifying, designing, documenting and commissioning automation improvements and capital projects.
Working with cross-functional teams to implement technical changes.
