Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a Dublin-based client. The role centers on troubleshooting, maintenance, and continual improvement in a high-volume, automated manufacturing setting.

You will lead automation projects, support change control, and work with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and safety. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in equipment automation, hands-on experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell and Cognex vision systems, and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

B.Eng. in Electrical, Software, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with Equipment Automation, Software or related experience.
Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation products and coding from specification.
Experience with Cognex high-speed vision systems and related networks.

Responsibilities

Manage automation projects plant-wide and liaise with vendors for new equipment.
Support continuous improvement of automated equipment using Lean / Six Sigma and PM techniques.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor equipment performance and solve root causes.
Provide front-line technical leadership to Engineering, Operations, Validation, Development & Quality.
Support plant-wide automation change control and software revision management.
Assist Validation with process validation and equipment upgrades.
Ensure equipment/tasks are risk assessed and drive safety improvements.
Assist in budget preparation and CI initiatives.
Train and develop Engineering Technicians.
