The Role
Established and productive individual contributor in a scientific/technology field. Administers automation for modernized and legacy systems, infrastructure, and services. Conducts the planning, design, scheduling and control of Manufacturing Systems projects and process improvements. Contributes to key performance indicator achievements and supports customer initiatives.
Your responsibilities
- Installs equipment and control systems and helps determine reliability and need for updates.
- Documents automation project requirements in support of project management, process improvements and maintenance.
- Conducts routine assessments to determine regulatory compliance and any necessary improvements for regulation conformity.
- Completes automation deliverables and ensures adherence to expected deadlines.
- Analyzes complex changes in scope, including provision of necessary information to support claims for time and cost impact.
- Communicates with subject matter experts regarding workflow and project deliverables internally and externally.
- Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
- Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- Experience in PLC Scada systems
- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Experience, skills & proficiency required
- Level 7 bachelor's degree in one of the following Software/ Automation / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic Engineering.
- PLC Programming and Debugging Previous experience with PLC bus systems (Profinet/Profibus/CAN bus/Modbus etc, working with Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB)
- Experience in delivery of automation projects
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications
- Working knowledge of Medical Device Quality Systems within a regulated environment
- Experience and good understanding of IP industrial networking and system communications.
- SCADA systems application/development
- Experience in computer system validation.
- Experience with manufacturing systems
- Experience with Database Configuration and Maintenance
- Experience with IT Networks
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
- 3-6 years' experience in a manufacturing environment (high volume automated assembly experience would be an advantage as would medical device manufacturing experience).

- Works and communicates well with others in a team environment.
- Comfortable working across multiple geographically dispersed locations.
- Participates in and understands all compliance related activities pertaining to the role.
- Follows all local laws and policies and maintains the highest levels of integrity, ethics and compliance always.
- Follows appropriate safety practices in order to prevent accidents to self or others.
- Demonstrates history of positive communication skills showing courtesy, tact, and understanding in interactions with co-workers, even under stressful circumstances.
